Titanium Alloy Market Strategic Outlook

Titanium is present in large amount in earth’s crust. Titanium alloys are prepared by chemical reaction of pure titanium with other elements. Titanium alloys have low density and light weight. They very tough at extreme temperatures. They are highly corrosion resistive and possesses good strength to weight ratio. Therefore demand for titanium alloys is showing steady growth in market. Pure Titanium and its alloys are used in various type of applications.

As Titanium and it’s alloys has corrosion resistive properties in sea water they are used to make parts of boats such as propeller shafts, rigging. They are used in aerospace, missiles and rockets also. One more important property of Titanium is, it does react in human body. Due to this it finds its applications in biomedical science. These alloys are used to make artificial hips and joints for setting bones. They are useful in dental implants also. Titanium alloys are very useful in Chemical Industrial Production Plants.

But the cost of raw materials and its processing is higher. These are the key factors that limits the growth rate of Titanium alloy market. Depending on product type this market is divided into Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo. Ti-6Al-4V are soluble in solid and it’s solubility varies with temperature. Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo can withstand at extremely higher temperatures. It is very hard and possesses welding properties. These are alpha beta alloys. Alpha phase gives strength and beta phase gives ductile properties to alloys.

Geographically, Global Titanium Alloy Market is segmented into several regions such as North America, Europe, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and India, Africa and Latin America. Currently North America and Europe together covers largest market of Titanium alloys. In upcoming years. Asia Pacific is expected to show highest growth. In India and China the demand for Titanium alloys is increasing for aerospace applications. This will drive the market of Titanium alloys in these regions during forecast period.
