Volume I · About Profshare Independent since 2015

A research firm built
around the rigour of
independent peer review.

For a decade, Profshare has delivered primary research-backed market intelligence to strategy, M&A, and commercial teams every report independently reviewed before publication.

Climbing the wall — the discipline of rigorous research
01 Story

Profshare was founded in 2015 on a contrarian premise: that most market research describes markets without telling you what to do about them. The firms making the consequential calls, strategy committees, investment teams, commercial leaders deserved something different. Research rigorous enough to take to a board. Methodology defensible enough to put a recommendation behind.

What started as a small team running primary interviews for a handful of clients has, over ten years, grown into a research practice covering more than fifty industries and publishing more than three thousand reports, each one built on the same discipline as the first.

Like a climber on a route, every report is held by the points it sets along the way each one tested, each one independent, each one able to bear weight under load.

02 What We Believe

Three convictions, held since 2015, still shape every report we publish.

Primary research is non-negotiable. Every report begins with structured interviews, expert panels, and CATI surveys with operators inside the market not desk research dressed up with citations. If we can't speak to someone with hands on the category, we don't publish on it.

Findings have to survive scrutiny. Before any report leaves our hands, a senior analyst who had no involvement in writing it reviews the methodology, models, and conclusions independently. Disagreements get resolved before publication, not after a client raises them.

Decisions deserve more than data. A market report's job isn't to describe a market, it's to make a senior decision-maker more confident in their call. Everything we structure, from the executive summary to the scenario models, is built around that test.

03 How We Work

Four practices that distinguish Profshare research from the broader category. None of them are exotic; all of them are demanding to maintain.

  1. i

    Primary research before secondary

Every report starts with operator interviews and category-expert panels. Secondary sources — filings, trade data, government statistics, corroborate primary findings; they don't replace them.

  2. ii

    Independent peer review

A senior analyst with no hand in writing the report reviews methodology, models, and conclusions before publication. The standard is the same one academic and clinical research holds itself to.

  3. iii

    Documented methodology

Sample sizes, source mix, modelling assumptions, and confidence ranges are documented and available with every report. When a CFO asks "how do you know this," the answer exists.

  4. iv

    Ninety days of analyst access

Every licence includes direct access to the senior analysts who authored the report, for follow-up questions, custom data cuts, and strategic context. No tiered support, no metered hours.
